The punishment for Class 1 felonies can be death or imprisonment for life and a fine of up to $100,000


What is a Class 2 felony in Virginia?
The punishment for Class 2 felonies can be imprisonment for life or a minimum of twenty years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000


What is a Class 3 felony in Virginia?
The punishment for Class 3 felonies can be imprisonment for not less than five years or not more than twenty years and a fine of up to $100,000


What is a Class 4 felony in Virginia?
The punishment for Class 4 felonies can be imprisonment for not less than two years or not more than ten years and a fine of up to $100,000


What is a Class 5 felony in Virginia?
The punishment for Class 5 felonies can be imprisonment for not less than one year or not more than ten years. The court or jury has the discretion to impose jail for up to 12 months and a fine of up to $2,500, either or both.
